Can anyone tell me what is the difference in the number of paddles on different sand tires? Why do they recommend 10 paddle tires for the quadzilla and less paddles for other quads? Wouldnt you think you'd want as many paddles as you can possibly fit on a tire?

It takes more power to turn more paddles. I have only ran paddles once and I can see why selection is important. I have some v paddles and they worked great but we were riding on a relatively flat area. If I were in the dunes I would buy the straight 10 paddle style. Don't forget to richen your main jet. I cooked my topend when I ran them. My LT was set up for woods so I had the jetting on the lean side. The sand adds alot of drag and generally you keep it pegged everywhere you go.

More questions! For optimized take off for drag racing a 10 paddle tire would be the best for a quadzilla? Would a 10 paddle tire be the best for a banshee too? Does more paddles take more power to turn them, making you slower? I know you may not have cold hard facts for these questions, but your opinion is just as good. Thanks!

At the local Sand drags where I race (A heavily modified HONDA 250R) most of the quads run 8 paddle tires made by skat track.
Usually only the custom quads (4 trax frame with 1100cc engine)run the 10 paddle tires.
The 8 paddle tires will work good on your zilla as they do on Banshees as well. Up here in New England area the most dominate machine is the 250R 4 trax. There are some banshees and Lt 250's. We race with a pro tree and in 100 yards. Hope this helps you
