Well I do like the Ford PowerStroke and I know they can produce a possible 650ft.lbs of torque easily. I like the new FORD commercial "You gotta Hemi in that?" and then the Ford guys stomp'em......

Default octane for high compression LT500

I've been trying to email Doc... His MIS police software was killing my email... I think I finally got thru to him this AM.

I've got the complete Rx of how to taperbore from Doc also (More top secret info) that I could send along with the carb... It doesn't sound too hard... I just don't have the capability with my limited shop equipment.
That sounds great!!! I'll go ahead and order me up a piston, so I can send the jug along with the carb...If you've got the time.

I'm really frustrated about the cracked cases... I told Doc about them.. Hoping he might have some suggestions besides File 13. I can't bring myself to trust epoxy, so IMHO TIG welding would be the only other option... I'm afraid your right... I'm betting that it's really thin there where the crack lives.

I have another set of cases... but they are already dedicated for the "other top secret project" mentioned above. I kind of had a sneaking suspicion that you would be the mad machinist behind this project. I too have taken the oath of secrecy on this one... I just love to tell people "It's bone stock" It's fun to watch them look for the NOS bottle, and want to smell my fuel tank

Do you have any idea as to how the timeline looks for this build? I'm hoping to complete my 250Hybrid before the end of summer, but Doc really hasn't said what the plan is...

You might PM me with your address (Since I lost that too) when you get a minute.

Thanks Buddy! Great to chat with you again!

ROG, the little tool bar on the upper right has a padlock symbol... just hit that, and you'll be off to PM land.

If you want to send me your cases and I'll look at them and tell you what I think your options are and we'll go from there. I don't have a problem working on them without Dr. Q's permission since it's more of a repair. I know what you mean about the epoxy, BUT it's stronger than you might think, but having said that it has to be used with discretion, it has it's limitations. Did I send you my address? I'd be glad to do your carb, I have some free time and I can have it done quickly. Besides I got some piston machining to do and that'd be a good excuse for me to get on the lathe. I'm gonna take some pictures tonight of my head o-rings, BTW do you have your head o-ringed? It's one of the best mods man. Especially with our high performance builds, we can take the engine apart and put it back together. I just got another head for mine off ebay, got it for $10. I'm gonna make 2 compression choices for my engine, one for 110 octane and one for AVGAS. AVGAS only costs about 2.50 a gallon here. 110 octane is for dune riding. One more thing, do you have an EGT gage? I need to get one, do you have any recommendations?

We had a great time at Dumont although there were way too many people - rangers estimated 20,000 to 25,000 two fatalities and dozens of injuries. The Las Vegas Jeep club had hill climbs and 300 foot drag races scheduled that we weren't aware of until we got there. I didn't have the fastest quad there - 4 or 5 alchohol banshes were 10 to 15 mph faster. I did beat one of those Sparks alchohol fueled 465EX but I got beat by a 690 Sparks Raptor - I was faster but couldn't keep the front end down at the start and couldn't reel him in before the top of comp hill. Now my daughter wants her Raptor modified like that one. I need to extend the swing arm on both LT500 and the Raptor to keep the front ends down - I was thinking that 4 inches would be about right without affecting its ridability in the dunes. I took 118 octane fuel with me and tried to mix it 50/50 with 100 octane av gas but it still detonated so I had to run straight 118 at $9.31 per gallon.
