cdi for quadzilla how do they go bad? at once?

Default cdi for quadzilla how do they go bad? at once?

my zilla ran fine but now it has no spark. went back 3days later and spark was there it ran for 5min then same problem. the stator checked out fine. sometimes it will only spark a plug 1 time. does the cdi go at one time? what can i do to find out what is going on?? im going to try to borrow another GOOD cdi to see it that is what it is. any help outheir??? please.

Did you look at the coil and wires to the coil. Mine died on a trail. I found the crimp on 90' connector on the
coil lead wire had gone bad, pulled the wire right out of it. It did kinda miss the day before, but ran ok till it died.
Easy fix.

Have you checked everyhting else? The CDI is by far the least likely component to go bad unless it was damaged by being connected wrong.

that is some nice plastic. how much u pay fer the sticker kit??? and the stator stuff checked out fine from the yahamer shop. why would the spark come and go and then stay gone its like a bad old lady.

Same thing happened to my 87 a few years ago. Chased the problem for months, until I found it was the connection on the wires coming from the coil. Fixed that and haven't had a problem since.

the coil wires are ok any more ideas?? the cliff next to the house is begining to look real good. and im not talking about rideing up it either.

Check all wire connections ....make sure everything is hooked up like the manual says. Go from there.
