Default Z400: Slip-on Pipe?

Hey guys,

I'm going to buy 'an 04 Z400 in around a month or so, and trying to plan financially ahead. My brother's girlfriend has a Z400 with a white bros slip-on pipe and it made an enormous difference. Now, money is not an issue, so when the time comes, should I just buy the whole pipe kit? I'd like to stick with White Bros, everyone I know likes them a lot and they sound great too.

btw, would there then be a difference between our two bikes as well?

Thanks a lot, guys.

in the march 2003 issue of dirtwheels they did a z-400 pipe shootout. the trinity seems to be the best by there descriptions.they said it makes very good power everywhere in the powerband. also not loud either comin in at 96db.

but if you are lookin for the most horsepower the ct was best. came in at 94db so its just a tad quieter than the trinity.

A fool and his money are soon departed......Not beating you up BUT....You can spend $700 on a carbon fiber and titanium WB or Yoshi, or $250 on a stainless R4 pipe. The C/F has great curb apeal but unless your racing the -1.5lbs and +3mph will not mean much in the woods/trails. My son inlaw has an 03 w/Full Yoshi and I have a 04 with an R4. He can out ride me on either bike....

There are a few differances; Swing arm, pipe, filter flange in air box and carb are a little different,

I wouldn't spend an enormous amount, what I meant was I would spend the extra cash to buy the whole kit instead of just a slip-on. You guys gave me some good ideas for different brands, but should I get a slip-on or the whole thing?

Thanks again.

Try ebay. I got my full system for what you would pay for a slip-on. If you are patient you can always find a deal.
