Anything that has threads needs to be covered. Any space, say the sleeves for the bolts to go through your a-arms, needs to be covered as well. If not with the tight tolerances of bolt sleeves you'll have to remove the powder coat before your bolts will fit back through. And if you get powder coat in the threads, you'll REALLY have a good time getting it out of threads.
