Default carb question on lt250r

i just talked to my local guy...and he said the first thing they check when its hard to start is to first: check compression, and then make sure the plug cap ( the part that goes over the plug ) is sercurely on the wire. This is why mine was messing up. So check that, especially since u say new cap, but maybe were not talkin the same caps.

compression is right on it has a totally rebuilt motor from top to bottom and ran the same way with the unrebuilt motor.
i replaced the coil and cap but like i said its still the same and acting like it was before i rebuilt it LOL.
if it was a ground wouldn't it still effect it even when its warmed up? because when its warmed up it runs fine starts first kick?

Default carb question on lt250r

ok i tore the bike apart today and checked all grounds which are fine. but something real weird was happening on the SPARK test.

i would put the sparkplug to the cylinder and kick it over. one time i would get spark then i wouldn't get spark for around 5 kicks it was random on and off like this?same thing with a new plug. i figure the CDI box wouldnt be able to do this, the coil is new,all the wiring has been checked and rechecked. could a stator or the pickup be going and have symtoms like this? but why would it be able to run after being warmed up? dosnt make since to me anymore.
im ready to give in on this battle i have been chasing this headache for awile now.
