Hey all.. i have a chance to get an '89 quadzilla for $500. It is in excellent condition as far as body/frame are concerned. Its ported and polished.. has a pipe on it, also the guy is throwing in 3 sets of tires too. The only problem with it is the engine is seized. This is a friend of my dad's so i know he wouldnt be screwing me over or anything. i was just lookin for a little input on my find any suggestions on what i should look for when i go to rip apart the engine? also do you all think this is a good deal? any help would be appreciated.. thanks much.

in case anyone wanted to know.. i bought the quad thursday, and i took it out for its maiden voyage yesterday (monday)... it didnt cost me a penny to fix. the only thing i have to get is a new air filter (damn mice)... but overall id say its one hell of a deal

 

Now I'm confused. Was is siezed or not? If not you got a really great deal. Even if it was siezed you got it for a steal.

 

the engine was not seized up. The kick turned very hard the first couple of times.. but its been fine ever since. The clutch was seized up but me and my buddy broke that loose. That is all that was wrong with it.
