dmc pipe glowing red ? about jets

I just installed my new pipe on my z250 when I ride at mid to full throttle the head pipe is glowing red. It doesnt seem to glowwhen idleing. Am I running way to lean or whats going on?running through the gears it doesnt sputter or back fire either, DMC claims it doent need to be jetted?which seems odd please help
I am also getting the quiet core will this help richen it up since it probaly will restrct some air flow

I called dmc today they say that most of there pipes will glow red. as long as it doent go further than 8- 10 inches from the head so I guess it is normal according to them, does anyone know what mikuni jets the ltz250 has?

I was wondering the same thing! when I called DMC they said they have alot of people calling up asking about the pipe glowing red, they said it is normal if it stays close to the head and not towards the mid or silencer!!!
as for the jetting thay give you 3 options
1 no need to jet if no air box mods and at sea level and runnig pump gas
2 run a dynojet kit ( which isnt avilable yet) for tunable performance
3 run a k&n pro flow kit (which isnt avilable) for best performance
I plan on jetting it anyway I am just waiting for my quiet core before I do

For your info a DMC pipe without a spark arestor or quiet core is 104 dbl and with a quiet core is like 94 dbls a pretty big difference I think

Hello.
DMC's pipe really sucks or the tech help sucks...You should at least go up one size on you main. You have a 125 main I would go to a 127.5 or a 130. these are Mikuni #(130 is stock on the Z400) If you go too big you will foul the plug: no big deal. If your to lean you will fry your engine.
