Default Tires on Zilla???

Ok i was thinking of getting fast trekkkers for my zilla but the guy working on it told me i should get somthin more like mudsharks cause i will want more grip. I ride mostly woods trails and fields. Sounds like a good idea. he said he has holeshots on his 250r and that they slide a lot and in the conditions around us id be better with a knarlier tire. what do all of you think on the subject....

Maxxis Alltraks maybe? Works well on mine, but don't powerslide well as they hook up. They wear out slowly too.

Default Tires on Zilla???

I've ran the fast trekkers for years... I love them!!!! I'm not riding in gumbo mud however... Mostly looser bentonite/clay and sandy based soils
They have great traction, can still slide fairly easily, and most of all THEY ARE CHEAP!
The 500 wears tires very quickly so that is a factor...

I buy a new set yearly.

My $.02

I have an 87 Zilla, and I've had the traction problem too.I bought a set of 400ex radial rear's and have not had a problem with traction since. They even do good in loose sand.I do alot of Drag racing and come across alot of different terrain's,they range from hard pac to loose sand, from 300ft to 660ft and even the cr500 with paddle tire's on can not catch me.

I have Holeshots but am not crazy about them. My cousin has some fasttrekkers and they hook up great and look cool, too.

When I was playing in feilds and mud Blackwaters where the only way to go. Now in desert Holeshot XCRs worked the best but still sucked. Havent played with tires for this cali stuff yet though.

i use dunlop radials rovers that seem to last longer than most.radials work alot better than bias on the L
T500r.i'm not to hard on tire's but 22'' fast trekkers wore out in about 100 miles after that no traction at all.semi round type tires like the kenda klaws look real good though.the maxxies razr2 also look beefy if you don't want to buy tire's every 9 mos' lol

I run 21" Mudsharks, and for sand and mud, they rock....They wear like iron, have good cornering manners, don't get squirrely on hard pack, claw through grass, and throw MONSTER rooster tails. I also like the looks of a 21 over a 22, plus you get a tad more clearance than with a 20". I'd recommend them to any one I like!!

well, i jinxed myself saying the mule tires had good traction. in a muddy/sand mix i had a hard time with some banshees.coming out of the hole in 3rd gear and still blowing traction bad.i'm gonna take a chance on the 21 mudsharks. the mule tires do wear damn good though! i'll be back with feedback on the sharks though, hope your right....banshees still had nothing but a holeshot
