Any Twin Peaks riders out there?

These 2 machines are identical and the cream of the crop. They are so powerful that mods aren't really needed but when you do, watch out!
27" tires? no problem
moving stumps? ditto!
The 660 grizz is prolly more plush but you need to get used to the independant rear suspension.
If ya got the dough, get a 700 prairie or TP ( or a leftover 650 ) , add the EIP black spring and some 26" mudlites and you got maybe the best machine on the planet!!!!!
If ya aint got the dough, get an Eiger, it'll do everything the P700 will do but not as fast.

You guys are killing me...the TP sounds GREAT!!! I have an 03 Vinson and have been happy but the TP sounds like a monster. I would love to be able to do wheeles; can you ride them too?
You mentioned that you traded in your Vinson...so what kind of deal did the dealership give you. The only thing I would be worried about is losing a lot of money in the deal. If it's anything like trading in cars you never get what it's worth. Mine only has 107 miles on it.
I guess I could always give the Vinson to my wife and but the TP or maybe even the King Quad when it comes out. Speaking of the KQ do you think it will be better than the TP? I'm a little worried about the IRS.

Eiger, I won't do any upgrade to the machine performance wise, and probably won't be getting into much mud as I live in a high desert climate. I do want a machine with plenty of power as most of my riding will be at an altitude of over 8,000 feet which is where my house is and I"ll often have my wife on the back. I"ll also use it to drag firewood out of the forest and to haul elk to either my truck or my house. I'm also looking for comfort as I'd like to take it on fairly long rides up to high mountain lakes in the area. By the way, what is EIP Black Spring?

We just brought home 2 yellow Twin Peaks - took them to WNF on Sat. to try them out. WOW!! (we had 2 - '03 650 Prairies before these) The throttle response is amazing, and the ride is a lot better than the 650s was. The black spring makes the belt last longer - we had them on the 650s. We have ATRs & C-Series to go on the TPs, but that is all for right now. They are definately awesome machines. That yellow sure is bright!! (Mrs. Q)
Just noticed, I need to change the profile!!

Decisions, decisions. This is where it now stands. I got a price for a 04 green Prairie 700 for $6450 out the door, and a blue Twin Peaks for $6899 otd, and a red Grizz for $6899. I'd say the Prairie looks like the best deal. How's it look to you guys? Man, I can't wait.

The black spring is in the rear driven pulley. It controls the tension and I believe is not as stiff as the oem spring which allows the belt quicker engagement.I have a stock 650 and have not installed it.The guys in the Kaw forum swears it helps the belt life.Kaw has a diff system that Suzuki and Yamaha. As long as you keep the belt deflection close to the low end of the spec it will last a long time.I am a firm believer that when trail riding (especially below 20mph) riding in low will GREATLY extend the belt life.I saw earlier that the Tp has more power????? It is nothing more than a rebadged Prairie with a diff bumper.I will also say that I know the 700 gets alot of attention but honestly against a stock machine it's been my experience the 650 and 700 are pretty damn close.(in a straight line)Of course there is no substitue for CC's.The eng is the smoothest out there. The only thing I have had trouble getting used to is the gear whine.Kaw uses straight cut gears instead of helical for strenght.
The grizz is a good machine and rides like a caddy but I personally can't stand the way it corners and at speed it feels nervous to me.I almost bought one but after spending the day on my buddies I am glad I did not.I kind hope the new 700 IRS handles good.It seems the Rincon has the quality (ride and handling) but falls short in other areas.
just my 2 cents
