Hey, I need a new carb for my zilla. I found a stock one on ebay goin for like 40 bucks right now of a 1990 zilla so it should fit my 89. I know there are other carbs out there besides stock. Lookin for any knowledge on them and whether I should get an aftermarket carb or just look for a stock one. what will be the advantages and whats the price im low on cash as I just got my zilla worked on.

 

You want a Keihin 39mm PWK....They sell for around $230-$240.....If you don't have many mods, then the stock carb will work fine, if its jetted correctly....Although you will notice a big diff. in throttle response with the PWK, especially if you open up your airbox and get an aftermarket pipe.

 

yea im gonna go with the stock for like 50 bucks. I just took the bastard out for a ride today man it ripped, really my first fully successful ride since I bought it. It just bogs in first and second and the guy who works on it said somthin was stripped and the replacement parts were like 30 bucks so i should just look for a new one on ebay. I only have 2500 into it now with parts, labor, shipping and buying it and it rips.

None!! I always enjoy internet pee-ing contests!! Actually, I took my kiehin off the 87 for the 90 I just sold, so I'd be stuck without a carb if I sold the stocker......Latah...
