I'm turning a 14T front sprocket with stock porting and have good low end power. Even for mx I don't think you'd want less than a 13T with the 85-86 5 speed tranny.

Well, the stock sprocket is 12 and it seems to give the perfect balance of torque and top end. I tried a 13 tooth for the sand dunes, and it didn't pull the hills as well.

If you don't want spend the exxtra $$$$ for engine modifications and if you are not already using....
try racing fuel like VP racing fuel C-12 you pick up a few extra horsepower threw your low mid and high ranges.
but on the west coast 5 gallons cost about $45 still expensive but give it a try!!!

Scott,
Last time I gps'd, it topped out at 73 but I had the airbox lid on so it was running kinda rich. I think I'm gonna drop to a 13 'cause I'm looking for more low end in the trails.

Quetip,
I thought the only advantage to higher octane was in preventing detonation in higher compression engines. How does this make extra HP?
