can anyone help me out here .i am trying to get a little more get up and go out of my 2003 vinson auto, im looking for good air filtre advise and also would like to re jet the carb. how ow much of a difference will this make. the dealers around here dont carry the carb jet.so may take some time finding the right jet .any suggestions. also i been hearing that the vinson has had a few problems lately, now im a suzuki man but this scares me ,i know of 3 vinsons that have broke the starter drive and has caused some major headaches, BIG PROBLEMS.it seems to happen when the engine kicks back ,the shaft breaks and busts everything up.i have seen the damage and it is real bad ,major expence. anyone else hear anything

never heard of the starter drive going bad. even with a big bore 581cc kit.

go for a dynojet kit. dunojet.com
k&n filter
and possibley a pipe from HMF, i would wait 2 weeks for the new ecosystem to come out(i am on the waiting list already).
if you are running oversize tires, i would recomend a dalton secondary spring. daltonindustries.com

your starter seems odd to break, ever sink it and flood it, then try to start it, mabey thats why, but i know myself when i have hydrolocked the motor with water, i can still use the starter to turn it over. i have 2700mi on mine how bout yours?
