Does a 86 lt250r come stock with a blue block?
I have a 86 lt250r and i have had it for 6 months now. It's block (motor) is painted blue. A person told me that a 86 doesn't come blue stock, the person before must have painted it. And now, on march, the paint has been peeling now for some time and looks like crap. Will it hurt the motor to take the paint off?

well....the only reason why i would ask that my friend tolod me that it was a bad idea to do it, so i wanted to prove him wrong. I know i'm right that it won't even hurt the motor the slightest bit
i was planing to take it off with either carb cleaner or brake cleaner(same thing). I got that idea when i was cleaning the oil off my carb, it took the paint off pretty good. So i guess i'm gonna do it!!!! A dremel, some carb cleaner and a brush is all i need!!!!!!! weekend project though

No, it won't hurt it....Chroming a motor is a bad idea because it keeps the heat in. Clean all the old paint off and repaint it with Hi-Temp engine paint and you'll be stylin'. I painted mine red with a cast color cylinder and yellow magneto cover. I also faded the yellow into the red on the clutch cover. The frame is yellow and the plastic is black and yellow with red highlights here and there. I think it looks good. And the LT motor is blue from the factory.
