I know this is for wheelers but I have a question. Im putting a rm 80 together right now and this bike had the top end off of it when I bought it. Im reusing the piston that was on it. Im now putting it back together and not sure what way to put the piston back on. It has two small holes right in the piston on only one side. does this go towards the carb or exhaust. the arrow on top of the piston also points the same way as the holes do. I dont know much about working on motors but im trying. Please help me fast. thank you

What about the two holes in the piston? I thought they needed to go twards the carb? This is what ive been told at least..

 

Arrow to exhaust is the universal convention.

 

yes you must have the arrow towards the ex. because that puts you ring ends in the propper position.
