Default Head pipe leak any ideas????HUMMMMM.

Hey guys I know this is a very common problem on lots of 2 strokes but what's the cure?
My LT 250 leaks and I got this stuff thats called exhaust seal it looks like and feels like silly putty I put it on the way they say to do it and it didn't do anything but push out the exhaust flange and still leaks. So does anyone have a good remedy?

I would say you should replace the gasket between the header and the exhaust port on the motor.

There is no gasket between the pipe and the cylinder. Take the pipe off, fill the pocket in the flange with copper rtv silicone, put your pipe back on, you're done.

The flange isnt leaking is it? It's seeping out between where the pipe slides into the exhaust flange right? Mine does it to, and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out a fix!

Silicone tape works very well. We use it on my buddies KTM and it works great.
