hey guys, i'm wondering if i should get a lt250r. i've been wanting to get a 2 stroke for a long time, b/c i really love the top-end power. i've been riding a 250x, very similar to 300ex, which is very modded for racing, and i mostly do a lot of trail ridding, and huge steep hill climbs. i'm wondering if a lt250r would fill my riding needs? also, what is the top speed of a lt250r? i've noticed that the lt is one of the worse looking quads manufactured, so is there any way to put different plastic on it to make it look better...thanx a ton for your input... also, i plab to completely mod the lt250r if i get one, so what r some good mods to do for trail riding, and drag racing? thanx again in advance!!

i do the same type of riding you do.mine does very good in the trials and on rockey hills.

 

I think the LT is the best looking quad there is (probably cause I have one). As far as top end it has alot but not as much as a Honda TRX 250R. The LT makes alot down low and into the mid while still having lots of top end compared to other 2 Strokes in its class (Honda and Kawasaki). That makes it the perfect 2 stroke for hill climbing, trail riding, Hair scrambes and just having a blast but wouldnt be my first choice for MX. Also the LT has widest and longest wheelbase in its class making it very stable in stock form. enlarging a wheelbase is very expensive$$$$. Last, suzuki is the cheapest when it comes time to buy parts from the dealer.

 

if you can weld, you can put 400ex plastic on it. just weld new mounting tabs, thats what i did i think it looks nice, specially with my new blue plastic. go to quadracer.co.nr to see it with yellow plastic, looks kind of crappy cuz my back fenders arnt bolted on and it was before i painted everything and stripped my motor to bare aluminum...i agree with them being ugly, but some of them look amazing!!but most of them dont haha
