metal in the oil

I drained the oil on my quad so I can start my teardown, I found metal shavings in it, I suspected they were from the clutch plates but I am not sure, any ideas would be appriciated. I just wonderin what to look for inside, thanks.

Can't say I know what your problem is but on all my previous 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers and now 4 wheelers i drill a hole in the oil drain plug (not all the way through of course) and insert a magnet to collect any metal. It's interesting to see what gets past the filter or never makes it to the filter. Good luck on your possible problem.
