Ok right now our city is thinking of letting atvs ride on some of the streets on the outside of the city. I went to a meeting about this with my dad, well it was more an open forum to get opinions, and geese i figured there would be more people in favor.

Nothing but old farts saying i dont want atv running down my street.

My question is why?

Like honestly most atvs are not that loud, and if you want loud, i can just as easily ride a harely legally down their street. (or better yet pull the spark arrestor off my xt and tear down the street at 2 in the morn, legally)

Other conserns will be traffic. But on the outside streets it is not busy enough to constitute there being a problem.

With the average age of the residents of this city being like 100+ years old, we never get anything new and exciting happening.

Heck, I don't blame them people for not wanting the quads on the streets because they could get hit from not being able to move out of the way fast enough of those crazy quad riders.

 

Yeah but its rural road, with speed limits posted for atvs

I would rather putt down a road at 20km/h than giver at 70 + km/h just to make sure i dont get caught from the cops.

There are crazy drivers with any vechicle, bikes, quads, cars, and sleds. Dont bad mouth the machine, its the driver

 

What is the posted speed limit for quads going to be?

Your only kidding yourself if you think your going to putt around at 20km on the road.

and 50km/h for quads where speed limits are over 50km/h for cars.

Yeah i would putt at that speed, if i knew i was not going to be charged for something

And as for noise, my dads sportsman is quieter that my chev blazer
