I just bought a 1986 LT230s Quadsport for $400. When I started to take it a part I found out it's going to need a new swing arm, left a-arm, all three shocks are going to the rebuild shop, needs the seat recovered, two new rear hubs, two rear tires, new plastic, a good paint job, new seals for almost the whole quad, new barrings for the swing arm, new hood for front, and a axle. Some of these items still work but i figure it will run better and longer to replace all of it. Thanks

 

It all depends on how much you want to ride a 230. Being as beat up as it is, I assume after all of that chassis work, you are going to have to have to open up the motor for at least a valve job, more than likely it has slight rod knock that will only get worse. For the money you will be dumping in it you probably could have gotten a newer, and less beat up atv.
