Not sure which one to buy, any suggestions. I would be riding mostly trails and open fields.

 

hmmm. hard choice.... NEITHER!!!! get a 400 they are so much better. If 400 is too big get a warrior or raptor 350 or if that is too big 300ex.. nothing less... how big a boy are ya?

It all depends on what you are looking for. Some people don't need a 400. If you want a sporty auto clutch bike the z-250 and Lakota are both good choices. The Lakota has lots of torque and power down low, but is a little on the heavy side. The Z-250 is lighter, probably handles a bit better, but is shaft drive, so you are stuck with the factory gearing forever.

 

i was also looking at a mojave. is there any big difference in power (DOHC). Also how does liquid cool compare to air cool.

 

i forgot, hows the top end on a mojave....top speed?

 

get the mojave, its an all aroumd better quad.

 

If you don't mind the clutch the Mojave is the sportiest, and has the most mods available. Liquid cooling is almost always better than free air. The Mojave probably goes about 63.

 

no!!! if clutch isn't a problem get the 300ex way better that all the 250's

 

I would go for the mojave. It is a great little quad. It will go around 55-57 mph. It is as fast as a 300ex but the mojave has liquid cooling which is a major advantage. There is also quite a bit of aftermarket for the mojave if you know where to look. If you cant handle a clutch go for a z250. Just puttin my .02 in.
