First off Yamaha did make a mistake with that raptor. Its a decent quad that takes a back seat when things start getting sticky. I have seen alot of raptors take the ol' role going around turns.(tipsy) Also a z-400 with miner mods will walk a raptor any day. It takes a big bore kit for the raptor to accelarte faster than the Z. Plus the Z doesnt have the Yamaha vibrations thing going on. they need to work on that. Even on the yfz-450 it has the shakes and is a rough ride to it as well as the raptor is.

yea i dont see a z doin that there nice bikes but i raced a z when i was stoclk and lost by 2 bikes so if this is trie then i would on lose to a rator 5 lengths haha i wish but that sproket probly helped to

 

You should check out the Alba nerfs. I just got them a couple weeks ago, and I love them! I was debating between the Pro Peg, Pro Armor, and Alba. I'm really happy with the stock foot pegs, so I chose the Alba ones. I have some pics posted and Alba has a couple pics on their site also.

 

if u wanna go the right way with the nerfs buy the ac pro peg those are some sweet nerfs they cost a little more but they are way nice then any nerfs out there i think.

 

i happen to think that all of you guys are crazy. i have never seen a z400 beat a raptor. even if the raptor is stock. ever. that experience with the slip on yoshi and stock z, his z has a 12 tooth front sprocket, which is 2 smaller up front than stock, and the raptor pulled on him the whole time, i know this, because i was the one on the raptor, at no time were we even, i pulled him the entire time everytime. and once i hit 3rd, he was really gone, 5 lengths at least in a 300ft race, maybe a little more

 

The guy on the Raptor probably didn't know how to drive it. 5 bike lengths isn't bad for a 260cc handicap. Do you think you'd pull ahead if you detuned that Raptor to a 400?

 

Stock for Stock the Raptor will win, Mod for Mod the Raptor will win. You guys keep going back to the 260cc advantage but the Raptor has all the hidden power. It is so detuned from the Factory. If you could have both bikes at its full potential, a 660 will kill a 400.

 

i only rode the dvx but that suprised me, but no way will a z beat a raptor if they have the same mods but that is becausre the raptor has a much bigger engine and there is nothing you can do about it, actually i stand corrected a z can beat a raptor around a track, with the right rider

 

oh and i wouldnt be suprised if he was in 3rd while you were in 4th
