i would want reverse because i am not only an MX'er, but i also trail ride a lot. Why cant we have the best of both worlds?? It cant be that much more weight to put on reverse, and even if it did, i guarantee it would still sell better because a lot of people like having reverse.

Suzuki will not make a sport quad. They will make a race quad al la YFZ. The Z400 is the sport quad. They also won't make the mistakes Honda did. Suzuki has seen the competiton and now they will go from there. I suspect a low seat height, w/ optional kick, possibly reverse, and a motor that will smoke the Honda and at least rival the YFZ...

If the new quad comes with reverse it will sell like hot cakes. Since the drz-450 is out i dont think its going to be much longer befor they put the engine on the quad. Suzuki knows there is money to be made. I rode the honda 450 to day and was not impressed at all. The kick start hurt my foot because i am not used to the foward kick start and jerked my ankle the worng way. After kicking starting it like 10 times before it even started. riding it , i noticed it had the old shakes vibrations just like all the yamaha sport quads do that run threw the handle bars. The quad had a very awkward transmission. The z-400 is so damn smoother than the honda and yamaha its a big differnce. Also my z-400 was smoking these stock honda 450 's to day, i have this whole shot down where i drop the clutch at about 8000 rpm and just rip off the line with my Razr -2. Go Suz. Reverse makes the Z -400 a true trail bike. I was laughing at these guys on there honda and polaris with out reverse because they were doing a lot of pushing in tight trails where reverse is needed.

All of the magazines have been having articles that Suzuki is coming out with a Z450 next year. They've said that Suzuki came out with the Z400Z to hold us over. That's the Z400 with the black plastic on the front and yellow on the back. Why they don't drop some sort of hint is beyond me. I wanna know if it's gonna have reverse!

In ATV SPORT they have an article in it on the Z400Z and it says "'It [the Z400Z] is essentially bodywork and paint, but there will be some upgrades to the coming 2005 model', said Mark Reese, Suzuki press relations manager"

I wonder what they could be.....a hint of 450 tech maybe in the suspension, brakes, swingarm or maybe even a bigger carb??

They might put a 38 or 39mm carb on it, or some suspension work. Both would be nice, but I don't see getting the Z getting 50 more cc's. First thing I think they should do is lower the chassis like the YFZ, and then work on the the suspension. Have fully adjustable front and rear shocks like the YFZ has as well. Work on the motor for the next year, and in early 2006 or late 2005 the new LTZ 450/ 450 Quadracer will be on the showroom floor. Just my guess.
