alrite...the PERFECT Suzuki 450...
1 - Must have the Quadracer name...
2 - I think they should go back to the blue frame with yellow/white fenders.
3 - MUST have a comfortable seat with some foam in it ( the other 450's are like paper and arent comfortable )
4 - Reverse..It may not be useful to MX's, but the trail guys would go crazy.
5 - Electric start with back-up kick already installed
7 - EFI ( if it has all the bugs worked out by the time we get it ) or at least a nice big, expensive carb like the YFZ has (FCR 38, right?)
8 - The RMZ450 engine (not a bored out z400 engine) that is built-up for quads. MUST be able to out accelerate the other 450's, and should be the same on the top or better. Overall just needs to be faster, and just plain better than the others.
9 - Aluminum chassis/subframe...as long as it is strong enough and doesnt need a gusset kit like the z does...
10 - Completely adjustable shocks, comparable to nice aftermarket.
11 - Price should be the same or lower than the honda's...( 6499 i think? YFZ is 6999?? )
12 - NEEDS TO HAVE ALL THE BUGS WORKED OUT BEFORE WE GET IT...the frame shouldnt need gussets ( z 400 ) the transmission shouldnt need to be worked on ( Raptor or predator )...I think that is the main thing. The handling should be perfection. The power should be perfection. The Frame should be perfection.
Oh man...all these features that none of the other 450's have would alone make it sell...The reverse would make it the best trail machine. Im dreaming high, but if they really wanted to come out on top, they would consider everyone of these things. My 15 years old 2 cents...

There are rumors going around now the the LTZ450 might even be fuel injected. I have also heard that the LTZ450 could be out as early as April 2005. All rumors from good sources.

Dealer show is next week. Let's hope they announce it atleast. EFI would be the ticket.

I'm not an huge atv guy...YET, but I am getting into it slowly. I read in this thread that the z needs gussets. I assume that that is some sort of added support... in what applications does it need that? Not for the average rider correct?

The best thing to do, rather than speculate, is keep an eye on the 450 dirtbike as it comes out. The ATV technology would be built off of that, probably detuned a bit for the masses(yet easily woken up), with compression and bore/stroke changes for the quad version.

The Z needs gussets if you plan on doing serious jumping or MX racing..............

for whoever said that the LT500 is the best performance quad ever made: LOL...Not quite. It's the fastest accel. production quad yes, but best performance quad ever made??? Not quite...Suzuki made the LT500 with cheap metals, and it turned out to be VERY unreliable...I'd much rather mod a banshee, or have a 250R...Or any other quad for that matter I've ridden multiple 500's, and they handle like crap, and have severe reliability problems...So I suppose if cracked frames, multiple engine rebuilds, and straight-aways are what floats your boat, then go for it..i guess what im saying is that even for a 2 stroke, its totally unreliable...A few of my friends have 500's...they work on them alot...even more of my friends have banshees...they ride them a lot..

I got more top end with the carb on. Didn't help lower end that much.
