Eiger jetting, stock is 122! WAY too lean
Pros: Good looking, Suzuki reliability, great handling, really stable (SRA), fast for a 400, easy to ride, comfortable, good gas milage, simple cooling system, goes great in the mud, excellent protection from that mud with some of the best floorboards of any quad I've seen.
Cons: Headlights need frequent adjusting, manual transmission boggles the women that ride mine, I recommend the auto for women (does that sound sexist or what? ha!), factory tires, like all factory tires, are kinda lame, oil filter is a little difficult to get to.
Not a real big list of cons... can't really think of any major problems that have resurfaced repeatedly on this forum... maybe with the exception of needing an in-line fuel filter between the fuel valve and the carb. They seem to all need that.
I'm really happy with mine. My wife really loves it, too.

So im sure he dosnt have the foggiest idea what im after

I found the jet kit (a lil pricey @ $5o) did the job for me. It comes with an adjustable needle and an assortment of jets and instructions on how best to fine tune yer machine with the veriety of jets they send and different needle positions. Its easy to install if ya use a good screwdriver to get the lil screws out of the carb.

Hi, new guy here. I just purchased 2 new Eigers for my wife and I. The dealership I bought them from is going to jet them for our altitude. (I haven't picked them up yet since they are in a different town a few hundred miles away). Since we like to go camping regularly at elevations round 9000-10,000ft, should I see if they could possibly jet them a little lean so when we do up a few K feet, they'll still run decent? Just not sure if the Eiger is alot more sensative to elevation than some Yamahas I used to ride. My uncles had a few Yamaha 350cc ATVs and never had to rejet before taking them up to go hunting.
BTW, I noticed Aksafari was the only one to mention what elevation he's at and that a 122 jet was too lean for 1000ft... possibly a 122 would be just right for someone like me that is at 5000ft. Just a thought.
Thanks.

You may want to look into getting a Dial-a-jet. I know if you do a search you'll find it. I've read a lot of good things about it. It can compensate for any elevation and is completely adjustable. Sorry I dont have any indepth info since I ride about the same alt all the time within 1000 feet I've never felt I needed it.

I know the jet kit comes with a variety of sizes and the needle is adjustable and a complete set of instructions on how to tune for diff alts. Jets are relatively easy to swap. The dial-a-jet automatically changes the jetting. No swapping. I know a jet kit runs bout $50.

Akasafari,
Did you ever run your Eiger at altitude with the new jet? I am struggling with mine right now. The dealer and I argued that I need to go smaller since I was going to be at altitude of 5-6K ft, No arguement from me there. My my argument however lies that if the thing is way to lean at say 1000 feet then the adjustment up at altitude may be off as well( By calculation). We should at least find the right operation at corrected elevation of a 1000 ft and known humidty. Then and only then JET smaller for 5000 ft. Anyway my Eiger runs like garbage right now. I am taking it back to them to have them put it back to the way it was and then just do the work myself. It back fires when I let off the throttle, has lousy throttle response and seems sluggish. Shoulda known better. I need to make more time for this stuff. I got lazy.....
I was thinking of splitting the difference. You used a 135, the factory does 122, I bought a 125, 128. Thought to have them start at 125.. they argued at went to a 118....
