You should def have no problem beating a stock YFZ.

Zilla's are fast, but you guys do need to give the YFZ its due, in a short race a lightly modded YFZ is hard to beat in the short run. A stock zilla puts out about 50 horse, a yfz with full pipe, ron woods intake, no lid, and cam mods puts out about 48 horse. It also weighs less and revs alot quicker than a zilla. A zilla def pulls it top end though. I'd say each machine has its element.

WTF is the big deal? man ive never been on a site with such babies or with a kid with a zilla that gets beat by a STOCK raptor
wow, who cares i got beat, if you read one of my other posts youll see i beat him a few weeks ago and then was beating my buddy's shee in top end , and he had a 15 tooth front, i had my stock 13. who cares if i lost to a stock rap, and all i was losing to him in was top speed cuz thats all we done. do i care? hell no, cuz i know i spent 2000 on my quad when all these other people spent over 6 grand. and ifyou think about it, my 87 zilla is basically BONE STOCK. everything is old and never been replaced except for the piston after the bore when it got tore up....

i did race it, but he had a pipe, so he prolly has 47hp. i beat it when traction was good, but in the field wed be about even (just getting to 4th) top speed i was behind him and his was banging off the rev limiter and i could catch up quick

Congrats on the win, if he only had a pipe though, he wasn't putting out 47 horse, prob more like 43 if he has the stock airbox and filter, or 45 with a good intake and lid removed. The cam-mod is what really wakes the YFZ up. And yeah, the YFZ has kind of a shizzy top speed, hell, even my buddies piped and filtered raptor pulls by me very very slowly on the top (though I do pull about 10 lengths on him up until I hit my rev limiter in 5th) If the YFZ is never ridden in slow technical terrain than a 15tooth def helps with that top end. Btw, what do you have done to your zilla?
