IF you read everyones issues they are all pretty much the same thing.... After a 500 mile break in period , switch to a synthetic oil such as amsoil.. This will pretty much solve any hard shifting problems. As far as mine... I have never had a problem with it except how it eats up the stock brake pads. SO when they are garbage and ready for changing ,use a heavy duty pad replacement. Oh yeah one more thing i did notice it when your hung up and are using reverse to get out of trouble, the caliper seems to rattle and make funky *** noises. I cant seem to understand why it does this. Other then those minor things , the machine is the best machine in its class. If your going for a automatic machine , wait for the new 700 to come out in a few months.

The A/C 500 has the same manual tranny as the Vinson and if you read the A/C forum, they have their share of probs as well. Too bad.
That $5400 price tag REALLY hurts my feelings. I'd have paid that and upgraded to the Vinny over my Eiger. NOT that I don't absolutely love my Eiger, but having Alum wheels, adjustable shocks, dry storage, cooler looks, 3 headlights, LCD display, and oh yeah 500 CCs! would be nice.

If I could do it again I'd get the auto. The manual shifts loud, and rough. I hunt with it, so it would be nice to at least keep a low, even tone, without all the banging. I also have had to have it in the shop to have the "parking Pawl" replaced. Its in the rear,in front of the rear end and locks the drive line when put into park. The problems I had were not a big deal, and covered under the warranty.I paid 6500 plus fees. And there are alot here in CA. It is an awsome machine.
