My Vinson is freaking out on me. It was raining cats and dogs out here last night and we were bringing it back from my friends. We didnt cover it up when we were trailering it back home and I was cleaning it today and when I started it up it ran fine for a few seconds then the starter engages and it wont stop. so I turned it off and waited and then restarted it and it runs fine for a few seconds and the starter engages again! I took the seat off and when the starter engages it makes a wierd snapping noise close to the battery. Help!

 

I had this happen too, im thinking the starter button, on the handle bar was wet, and thats where the short is. My problem went away before i could pinpoint the source , and it hasnt happened again. Leave the key off, until things dry out.

 

i think i got it figured out for him, told him it was the starter relay under the seat, mine did that, 54 dollars later for some people, hopefully the warrenty will cover it.

 

same thing happened to me with my 03 vinson...it happened however after i completely submerged it and it was the starter BUTTON...
