Help just bought lt250r!!!!

Check out this one.
Your problem was almost definitely caused by running way too lean. Not because of your carb jets or anything, but rather from an air leak somewhere (crank seal, gasket, etc)

Default Help just bought lt250r!!!!

thesb is right on with that one also,I just was going by my experience with my quad it was just the carb.Mac dizzy is a great site with lot's of info. on the LT's.

Default Help just bought lt250r!!!!

i did find some metal shavings in the bottom end of my engine, and the hole in my piston wasn't like a puncture hole right through it, it was just worn down so far in that you could see through, inside the rings. the cylinder was only scarred on the exhaust side

Default Help just bought lt250r!!!!

Since you said your new to 2 strokes, did you remember to add oil to the gas. Chances are, it ran fine initially because it had mixed gas, then you probably just added straight gas and ran it lean and blew it up. If you clean the crank area really good, you may be able to get by without tearing apart the lower end. My brother blew a hole in his 250r piston. Did a good cleaning and freshened the top end and hasn't had any related problems.

yeah i used the same mixture as the guy i bought it from had been using, only rode it for about 4-5 hours total. but yeah i took it to the local suzuki dealership to have them figure out what all needs to be done. thanks for all the advice
