my 92 lt was running fine, i broke the engine in properly. then i started riding it. it ran fine for about 20 min, then started to hold onto the rev after i released the throttle. the cable is returning, so that's not the problem. then it would not kick over. when i pop started it, it fired up right away, but will not idle and now the idle adj. would not work. i have a 52 pilot and a 178 main. also out of nowhere, the stator cover cracked?? i hope this isn't how my lt's life will continue. if anyone can shed some light or explanations on these problems, i'd appreciate it. oh, when it was running, hold on for your life. it was scary fast and had insane low end.
oh, i almost forgot. the front end left side tie rod hits the upper left side a-arm when u turn it to the right. the right side is okay both ways. ???

So,after you start it,it rev's right up?the float bowl is not at the proper level,or it Sound's like the crank bearing's and seal's went and the crank moved over hitting the cover, take the cover off and see if you can by hand, move the stator inward and up and down.If you can they went.Another thing it could be is sucking air around the intake boot where the carb fit's into it,heck even I forgot to tighten a screw before and mine sucked air,is the cable and the slide returning properly, you did'nt run out of gas did ya?It leaned out some how,it would'nt kick over?piston swelling up from over heating.I'm just going by past experience's that have happened to me when I fisrt got my Zilla and I'm just trying to help out.

That sure is good new's on the stator being tight,I was advancing the timing on my Zilla,(PVL) IGNITION,and I started it up and was reving it alittle and I could see the stator move in and out.Immediatly I called Vito's and he said that the crank bearing's and seal's were bad,Missed three race's that year but I'm sure glad I caught it at home and not on the track.

i have no clue...got spark, plug's wet with gas, brand new air filter, tightened up all the boots, and nothing. it won't kick over. pops starts right away, but no kick. i have the air screw out 2 1/2 turns out, 185 main, 52 pilot. the plug is a nice color. i don't understand because before yesterday, it was starting first kick. after it is broken in, does it change any carb settings. i'm lost.

This sounds crazy, but I've experienced it first hand. Make sure that your pipe is making a very secure and sealed connection to the head. My LT wouldn't start or run at all if the pipe had come loose even a little. Usually getting out and pull starting it would wiggle the pipe back into place.. Sounds wierd but I'd check it to be sure. As for your tie rod, it sounds like something is bent.
