well i want to start out by saying i bought a lt250r a few weeks ago and only got to ride it once, i sold a polaris trail boss to get it. i paid $3,300 for my zuki. my polaris always broke down i thought this was normal for a polaris but anyway i sold it(this quad was killing me $$$ wise i spent over 2,000 in it in two years now i have a 1991 suzuki lt250r and i love it it has tons of power but when will i ever get to really ride it everytime i try something breaks or goes wrong im thinking maybe i just have to work the bugs out of it i rode it today and went down into the trails and it just staled put a new plug in it and it worked it killed that plug to i use maxima super m oil mixed 32:1 im not sure why its going through spark plugs like crazy i cant even ride it now, is the mixture wrong maybe im gettin to much gas and thats killing my plugs i dont know it was working fine untill i had to let it sit so i could fix it for about 3 weeks maybe thats why i just drained the gas and i didnt get to start it yet because i need a plug now maybe it was just the gas i dont know how the gas could kill plugs just from sitting though help please. also what is the best swing arm skid plate what i mean is what is the strongest i need something super tough im running 18" turf tammers on the back and now the brake rotor and sprocket/chain are more prone to be smashed off of something
and i dont want a 400ex sorry but there motors are junk(why would they put a s low motor in a good quad?)
1991 lt250r to many mods to list

You need to take your carburator apart and clean it. If it was sitting a while before you got it, there is probably a lot of crap in the jets. Also, check your floats, needle, etc. If float valve is not working correctly, fuel will just run into the carb un-impeded(good word eh?) and flood your engine causing a fouled plug. (not killed).
One last thing, if there is a big difference in elevation from where you bought the quad, to where you ride know, you must rejet. The manual will tell you exactly what jets to use for your altitude and tempature. Keep in mind that this is for a completely stock machine, but it will get you close enough to get you running. I know people who go through their entire life running fat jetting and don't have problems, others, a little too rich and they foul a plug. If you are higher in elevation than where the quad was bought, you will be running rich and probably foul plugs. I had a RM400(no jokes about my age please) and it loved to foul plugs. Good luck.

I think you would have much better luck had you used punctuation in that last post these great big four paragraph run on sentences really make for hard reading and really hard to diagnose what's going on with your qracer they really are quite reliable but you must remember the worst thing you can do to something mechanical is let it sit without using it all kind of bad things happen like dirt and gunk builds up insects build nests stuff like that can really make it run like crap ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!! Sounds like a 14 year old girl on the phone...
Check your jetting. If the pilot or main is fat at ALL on my '87, it'll foul plugs. Don't despair, and go buy a new one everytime- you can use a propane (or oxyacetylene) torch to "burn" off the oil fouling-- assuming you have one and are trained to use one. Heat the fouled plug until the electrode is a very dull red, let it cool, and it's good to go. Beats the crap outta buying plugs. Also while you're checking the jet sizes, give it a good cleaning. And clean the air filter too, and use decent filter oil. Word of caution- NEVER put your air filter in the clothes dryer to dry it out while the wife is home!!!!Mine just didn't understand...
