Default LT250 advice

I think I need a jet kit and have been told to go with DYNO. Are they the best, and where is the place to get the best deal? I also want to invest in some reeds, where should I go for these? I have an 86 LT250 by the way. I have almooost completely rebuilt an 86 I got for $500 in a box. I cant get the carb tuned. It backfires and misses on topend of 1st and bogs going to 2nd, I think I need a bigger jet. I have a K&N and a possiblely bored head.

For all you guys with an 86 with stock exhaust, Should the engine be as loud or louder than the exhaust? Mine whirrs like a porsche or supercharger.

dont bother with a jet kit, just go to your dealer and get a handfull of jets and start testing them out. as for reeds i think i allready told you but tdr reeds are the best reeds iv tried out of boysen, carbon tech, and tdr. just try some new jets, and do the spark plug test. if it runs good and the spark plug is a tan color its good, if its black, or white, try something differnt

yeah in some cases, for stock exhaust, probably. I am not that knoledgeable but the engine could be. I bought mine with answer exhaust already put on, and it is freaking loud. I had the same prob with mine in December, i just took it to my suzuki dealer and had a FULL SERVICE done to it. Now it runs like a striped ape Just go have a dealer play around with it, it costed likw 100 bucks, but, that is a whole lot better than messing around with the dang thing for hours a day. It took like half a day to get mine fixed ata dealer which would have taken HOURS a day for weeks to get it fixed without really knowing whatyour doing.
