Default 2003 z/kfx

Ok I am in the market for a new/used 4 wheeler, and am one of those people who shops around alot before buying. Around me the prices for z's and kfx's are: 03 - 5,200 out the door, 04 - 5,450 out the door, and the 05's just came out.
My question is really about a used 03. Lets say that the bike in question is in great shape, and was hardly ever ridden. My guess, knowing that the 05's just came out, and all the upgrades on the 04-05 models that the 03 price has to be dropping, and even more now that the 05's have been released. I figure that an 03 in perfect shape is worth at best 3800.
Reason I am kind of annoyed is that the person selling it refused my offer. Great bike and I want it but I feel that 4,100 is too much even for a perfect 03. Am I way off? Please help

tough question...they won't budge on the price huh? I guess it depends on how bad you want it. Keep looking, you'll find one in your price range. Although $4100 isn't too high if it's in perfect shape. Good luck!

The reason that I think that 4100 is high is because the bike is now almost 3 years old. It was bought in late 02, but yes is in very nice condition, female rode yada yada....

No matter what the 05's coming out now has to lower the price...??? Also kelly's blue book has the 03 at 4,260 sold from a dealership. Not from private to private. That should be lower. Damn I just wanna get a quad already without taking it in the a$$.

Im 24 and my price range is limited, although I could muster up the cost for a new one.....but Id be hurtin for awhile.

You're 'annoyed' that he won't sell it for what you want to pay? Hint, get married and let the wife do all the shopping. You're in for a miserable life otherwise. You're going to be annoyed a lot.

Be patient. I spent $3,500 on mine and it was mint when I got it. The guy rode it around his and his father in law's yard. A great deal will come your way!

yah zbutcher I think mods up the price of a used quad because that means it already has the stuff on it that the person buying it was going to buy extra anyways. Saves them the time and money.

id go for the 04. the 03 doesnt have the changes that the 04 has and the 05 looks pretty g@y with the blue seat. the changes arent anything great either. only racers would be able to tell such suttle differences.

Ha Ha, you are right Glenlivet, I am gonna be in for some troubles....and as for the 03 kfx is does not have any mods, it is bone stock. And to answer the other question, if a bike is modded yes I believe it does raise the price of the unit, but it lowers the appeal as far as I am concerned. Anyone who mods their bike is really out there riding the machine, and wants the performance to rage.
When buying a used machine, you want to find one that was hardly ridden, and not ridden hard....thanks for the help all
