New Suzuki owner here in need of advice on Jetting w/ new exhaust
Hi guys. I just purchased a pair of 2004 Suzuki LT Z250 Sport quads and am obviously a new member to this forum and am hoping I can get some good advice. I was looking at doing a z250 for my wife and a z400 for me but found the z250 to be more than enough for someone getting back into the sport after being out of it for over 15 years(were in our early 30's)and ended up getting one for me too(plus I like the semi auto and shaft drive feature). We've already added a bunch of DG skid plates, nerf bars for protection etc and also just picked up DG's Stage 3 header and exhaust. The directions stated that a Mikuni #138 main jet is recommended.
So here is the question. I am mechanically inclined, but how quick and easy is it to switch the jetting over on a Mikuni BSR29mm carb? Any advice here would be appreciated! Also do they make any type of higher flowing intake/filter element to help the engine breath a little better and to match up with the exhaust? The exhaust are already installed and the difference in power was an eye opener on these little 250's. I just dont want to run the engine too lean and want to do it by the book so any help is appreciated.
