Quad Runner 500 winch wiring?
#1
I had just got my winch mount in the weekend before our Tellico trip and was in kind of a hurry to get it on the 500 and working. I left off the "battery saver" and the constant duty solenoid for lack of places to put them. Now that I've got some time, would it be worth it to go back and install these? The battery saver cannot mount on the (+) battery post as intended, there just isn't enough room under the seat, as for the solenoid I guess it would have to mount on the frame up under the front fenders somwhere. Any ideas? TIA

You must decide, Tym, whether to connect the circuit breaker or not. If you do connect the "shortstop," the circuit breaker must be near the battery terminal or you defeat its purpose.
I personally believe minimal risk exists in running well-insulated wires routed without threat of abrasion or binding directly from the battery to the winch control switch; however, you must decide for yourself. Good luck!

Thanks for the input TF. It seemed to work fine even after several dunkings and scooping up mud due to the POOR design of the mounting plate I got. The kit came without wiring and me being in a hurry had to spend about $20 at Radio Shack to get 8ga. cables and connectors to hook it up. SuperWinch has since sent me the wiring now I've just gotta make it right.
