FMF Fatty installations probs
#4
suzukifan, steve250r, thanks for the replies. I actually gave up and put the stock pipe back on because I was so frustrated. But I'll give it another try. It seems that if I took the exhaust studs out, lined up the exhaust with the flange already on, and then put the studs back in, it may work. I'll try.

92LT, I just ordered a FMF pipe today for my '92 also...let me know when you get it on, and what advice you have for me. I'm taking mine out this next weekend for it's first real ride since I bought it and I want to get a pipe and air filter put on. I'm going with two guys I've never met...a 400EX and a Banshee. I plan to spend Sat. installing and jetting so my ride will perform well.

92LT, did you get the pipe on? I installed my FMF Sat. It was a tight fit, but patience is the key...it actually has a nice fit. I installed a UNI filter also and re-jetted...wow, what a great mod! I went riding with a 400EX guy on Sun. at his place. This was my first time to take my LT out and really test it out. Because I was trying to hang with the this guy on an unfamiliar track, I got myself in those situations where I knew I was going to crash...wow, my bike would somehow soak up the worst landing or those surprise high speed ruts. I was amazed at how far I could leave the 400EX behind when exiting the corners onto a straight. Later he told me he rides at full throttle most of the time...geez, I was feeling intimidated everytime I was WOT past 3rd gear and would back off just a bit.

Steve10, I got the pipe and silencer on ok. It was a really tight fit. What a difference in power. It sounds a lot better too. I ride with a Honda 250r, and we were dead even in speed. But now with the pipe, I should have an edge. I can't wait try! Tell your buddy in his 400ex that he better get used to following you!
