Default 2-Stroke Notice!

I was looking stuff up on the interenet, and came upon this.. ( http://www.offroadhaven.com/powervalve.htm) It is interesting because they say , " Few QuadRacer owners seem to be aware of the fact that Suzuki provides a drain plug for the SAEC chamber. This drain plug should be removed periodically to allow any accumulated oil or water to be removed." Good Idea, eh? That specific paragraph is located where the two pictures are.

Default 2-Stroke Notice!

Just yesterday I found an old post on another forum that mentions this drain plug. It said that you should blast a little carb cleaner in there once a year to clean it out.

How else can the powervalve be cleaned without pulling off the jug? I haven't checked to see if it's actuating through the little window, but I'd like to know how to clean it if it's not.

i actually think it was only on the 500cc models. (quadzilla). But if it is on the 250's also, then it would be right in the front of the engine.

isnt the power valve actually the exhaust valve? .. couldnt you just take the spark plug off and put some carb cleaner in there?

umm...2 strokes dont have exhaust valves like your 4 stroker does. Power valves just make the exhaust port height smaller or larger for different powerbands.

Alot of later powervalves work like that but the SAEC system on the LT's works a little differently. At low rpm, it allows the exhaust to flow into a chamber in the engine case as well as the pipe (Click the link on the first post and it's the blue area on the 2nd picture) effectively making the exhaust more like a 'low end pipe'.
