Z400 Owners fill me in on the good & the bad
#21
BIGGONE,
Just remember that the $4798 is not usually out the door. You have doc. fees, taxes, etc. I got my 03' Z400 a couple of weeks ago for $5250 w/ Paddles & Helmet OTD. So, you might think about getting some extra goodies from the dealership. Remember that it never hurts to start low! I would start at $4,000, then as they raise the price on you start adding stuff! Like the things that you want added to it like exhaust etc. It never hurts to ask for good stuff, from the dealer, then you can get it for near cost or at cost and get a good deal on your bike. Think long and hard about what you want to put on your bike, then go in there coming away with the goodies. If I were you I would walk out $5300 OTD w/ Exhaust, jetting, and Air filter kit and the new bike. Depends, if you need other things (new Helmet?) Try it! That is why I like buying from dealers. Always ask, cause if you don't, you might regret it!
A friend of mine who sells bikes says to make a deal that day they are always willing to give you their parts at cost. They are always going to make money off of your sale.

at a dealer i saw a kfx a z and a dvx on the floor. the kfx was 4600, the dvx 4700 and the z 4900. as for how good it is its an awesome machine. it has reverse, good suspension, its great for wheelies and powersliding, lots of power, overall a great quad. im talking about an '03 model, bone stock. i think the '04s had the weak frame and axle problems fixed, but not sure how different they are from the '03s.

First off let me say this to Lolli2 before I forget.......I love those graffix!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a SWEET
flame kit !!I like those nerfbar heel basket combos I didn't think they came like that.
Okay now I had no idea that you could talk to these people like at a car dealership??!
They will actually throw stuff in on a deal? I really had no idea! I thought ya get what ya pay for and thats it no talkin or nothin hummmmm and if they don't want to throw anything in then
what walk away to another dealer??But of course make it be known to them that thats what your doing because you can make a better deal with their competitors?.
Well ... I'm at a stand still right now cause the dealer won't take my truck for trade unlike
Ronnies. But the thing about the one Ronnies dealership is {theres about 5 of them}but the one that does do trade- ins with vehicles is it's like 60 -70 miles away! So I guess I'm gonna have
to try and sell it outright and just wait for a buyer. But with all the information that you all
have given me about the 400 I'm pretty much SOLD on it!!!!
Thank you guys for the information!!!!!!

The one thing about buying (I should know, I do it for a living) big items, they want to make money. If you tell them that the only way that you will walk out of that dealership with that vehicle is if they give you goodies, and you offer a reasonable price for the vehicle. They will do it. Trust me. If they don't WALK! Just try it, and if they don't try to stop you, then you should have never been there in the first place. You have the power in the situation, not them. Never forget that! You have the cash, they have the product. I went to every Suzuki dealer in my town and I eventually went out of town to buy mine. (That is not cause I walked out, they didn't have any that I wanted in stock). I got my wife's 04' Blaster with Toomey Kit (Silencer, Jet ,& Air Filter), Paddles, Gloves, Goggles, and a Helmet! I got all the goodies for at cost or 10% off cost. Better then than later! Good luck with everything! Remember my words when walking into your next dealer!

Thanks LTZ400GUY!!! I sure will remember and try what you said, it's funny cause after I
posted my last response I was sittin around and I got a call from a guy on my truck ad in the local
want ad paper..... he's gonna call the dealership tomarrow and see if the truck can handle
towing a 10,000lb equipt trailer and if it can he said he wants it. We'll see though most anyone
knows people can talk lots of smack on a purchase of that nature. It would be GREAT if this
guys the first one to hold up to his word , so we'll see.
If he does buy it then I {was just looking in the want ad } and I might buy one thats already hopped up from a private sale . I couldn't belive how many in my area that were for sale in
the 04 year, theres atleast 6 and 4-5 are hopped up for 3,500 - 4,000! I'll also be looking at getting my "real"son his first quad which will probably be the blaster. But yeah thanks for informing
me about what you know appreciate it!!!
