Hi there, I've just got my hands on a secondhand Quadrunner and the start button doesn't work (starts-up okay via the manual recoil). Pressing the start button creates a whirling sound (starter motor?) but doesn't start the engine. Lights work fine.

Know next to nothing about mechanics but want to have a go at fixing it. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Hmm, cleaned out the starter and that part at least works fine. The start button still doesn't start the engine though. Anyone explain to me what my next steps should be? (apart from going to a garage :-)
