Default 750 Brute Force vs. 700 King Quad

I was looking real hard at the BF..Im going to WAIT because I wanted my next ATV to have EFI..I dont like the way the BF radiator is so wide open in the front, nor do I like the cheap plastic stick CV gaurds on it.

Im leaning towards the KQ,but I'll wait to buy one until I get to see/ride it.

Not correct. I have been excited to get the brute from the first news I heard about it until I started hearing reports about features I didn't like about it.

Also, the differences are not small, they are significant. You may think they are small, but they seem very important to me because I am still deciding which to get.

You have already purchased so I won't try to convince you that what you have is not the best for you and your trails. However, it also appears from your last post that you do not have anything to say about this subject that I am interested in. I am not saying you can't post, just don't bother giving me advice on my quad purchase decision because I will probably just skip over your next post.

Can you clarify this?

The belt is engaged all the time but when you stop it disengages when you stop?

I belive that this system uses the same type of set up as a manual quad but instead of gears it uses the belt pully set up for speed changes.

Am I in the ball park?

I am ready to buy and almost got the BF until all this talk of the KQ so I am going to wait. I now have a V-Force and after riding Pauls quad last year I really want a 4x4, it was awsome.

I still like to power slide and jump a little so this KQ sounds just like the ticket for me.

Big One it is called a sprag clutch. Yamaha uses it on the griz.

The belt never goes loose always tight.

However, there is a one way bearing on the drive pulley. The engine cannot transfer any power to the drive pully due to this bearing (thus you can idle in gear even though the belt is tight). The engine can turn faster than the drive pulley due to this one way bearing. The engine does turn faster than the drive pulley at idle.

A centrifual clutch on the engine flywheel power from the engine to the drive pulley at a certain RPM and above (you hit the gas, and you begin to move forward). This is what makes up a the sprag clutch. It has been used on almost all the autoshift motorcycles for years. Putting a belt on it is a wonderful idea.

If you let off the gas, the one way bearing prevents the drive pulley from turning faster than the engine, therefore on a hill the engine braking is always on and has no minimum speed. You cannot feel it engage because it is instantaneous.

This system does not wear belts as fast as the kawi (polaris) system. It is not as easily tuned as the kawi belt drive. It can take a lot more beating and keep ticking than the kawi system since you won't ever burn a spot on the belt. You can leave it idling in gear indefinitely (unlike kawi). You can hook it to a truck to attempt to yank it out of a pit and it will not damage it.

Well by all means in the future I'll try to post something that interests you. I want to touch on a few points with you also:

1. I'll post if I want to, there's nothing you can do about it.
2. I'm not trying to give you advise on which quad to buy, I could care less less which one you buy.
3. I don't care if you skip over my posts or not. You're holier than thou attitude is truly annoying.
4. I noticed you jumped on a guy the other day because of his icon picture. I've also noticed that you come down on people when they say something that contradicts you and then shreek away when they confront you. I'm wondering, who do you think you are?

I apologize for being rude to you CAM650. I am just overly anxious to ride the new KQ and I am getting irritable because of the long wait.

I like to stand up for what is right, and I did stand up for something recently that I though was wrong. If I hadn't been irritable because of the long wait for this KQ I would have been more tactful. So everything will be fine with me as soon as I get a test drive.

Ah, no need to apologize. Please accept my apology for being overly aggressive. We're about to have our third child and I'm on pins and needles too. Truth be known, I can hardly wait to drive on myself, I'll probably sell my TP and buy one! They do appear to be VERY impressive.

I do respect your opinions and please accept my apology.

I am not really comfortable hugging guys. But, I will shake hands.

Bigone, can you tow something down to virginia? I think you said your bro had a new truck. KOD has more riding trails than you can cover in a week in virginia and it is all free. Last time I went, we stayed at his parent's place. They were as nice as my own parents.

It would be some good riding.

I am truly thinking of selling my Vinson and getting a big bore.
The KQ would have been worth the wait as it sounds.

Oh well, my bad. I know I am not the only Vinson owner that
is reconsidering...
