Or are you talking mm? Maybe that's it... *whew* got a little worried there.

well somewhere on this forum are the values that the bike should be according to the factory hit search under vinson valves and you'll find it...or just valves...
anyways you'll need to get a feeler gauge from sears (one that gets really small)...
at first id say feel your valves before you loosen the bolts...however most people including myself when i did this bike the first time sat there going DUH wheres the valve stem etc etc...
thats why i suggested loosening them and then readjusting them. They are most likely off to the highest clearance possible if you have 1600 miles or whatever you said you have. Just look to make sure that your tappets (the little metal threaded rods that the tiny nut goes onto are in good shape (at the bottoms of them)
reminder the tappets only come out by twisting downwards so dont try to take em out (you shouldnt need to plus you might force it against the thread and frig em up)
But first feel underneath those tappets with your gauge and if its ok then dont worry about it...but if it is loose then pull those nuts like i said.
As long as you tighten those tiny nuts you shouldnt have any tapping but your machine will run smoother.

so i dont need to pull the pull start and find tdc, i thought that was only for timing
i got the gauge a big 5.99$, and am going to do it after i get the cv joints, and bearings in first. all i gotta do is put the gauge under the tappets, and make sure they are all at spec? dont i need the exhaust ones at a certain point, and the intake ones?
