A LT 250R factory service manual would help solve all of those problems. All you need for a special tool is a magneto puller about $15.00-$20.00 from most places. That and some kind of impact wrench electric or pnumatic will work. Bore is 67.0 mm(2.638 in). Yes it's sleeved. Order the manual from one of the parts places and you will be a happier person. The reving could be a bad base gasket or a loose pipe as well. I would try to crank everything down first if you already haven't.

The 250 Suzuki is even easier than the Honda's. The counterbalancer comes apart unlike the others, and the only thing you need to pay attention to is the tranny. A little time and getting the book and you can do it. FYI I think you can change both crank seals without splitting the cases, just remove the stator and the clutch cover and couple of gears. I'm sure someone will let me know if I'm wrong, it's just been awhile since I've had my hands on one.

Bubba did you do anything to the LT250. You are kind of the porting guru over in the Polaris area. Just wondered if you had found any tricks for the LT.

not splitting the cases would be great because bearings feel fine....any more info on this procedure would be great....we are about ready to pull motor out of frame. so if i dont have to, it would be a time saver....looked at the jug and it has been ported also.......slight front piston scuff but no real damage.rings were still in 1 pc andno hot spots....

this forum is the best...very helpful people here......

Yeah you can do it without splitting the case it'sjust more of a pain. Still have to take the magneto off and everthing else such as the clutch and all of the associated gears on the crankshaft. remember to loctite all the bolts you take off. Then tend to vibrate out over time if you don't. Learned that one the hard way.
