Great quad. I love mine. Sorted out, 581? Anyway, the plastic fasteners have been replaced with Allen-heads, and nyloc nuts in the "high traffic" areas. Check my pic.s also.

i think as of now my list is

New display- 350$ for whole assembly, my screen heat cracked from the inside so i need the whole thing
Dalton clutch Secondary spring 35$- my clutch seems to be worn, and the belt makes a squeeling when accel from a stop
bearings for the left side now 20$_all *****, i already ordered them.
Re-do reverse override_ Free, i unhooked it from cdi to eliminate it from being the culprit
a couple relays here and there.

pisses me off being i just replaced 350$ worth of stuff, cv joint, and bearings.

Kinda hard on sht aren't ya? JK! Sucks to be down after just rollin' again. If it makes you feel better-I think you keep a tidy garage too How much did that shop run ya, anyway? The wife has informed me that our garage is no longer going to house my "junk". I told her to put up the $, or shut up. She handed me her check book!

I had a Vinson but sold it adn bought a DS 650.

Likes:
1) power
2) was and may still be the fastest 500 in it's class
3) steering is very light, good for the Mrs.
4) Auto drive train is as smooth as a Rubicon
5) ride is the best out there for a SRA
6) looks

Dislikes:
1) no foil tape on plastic near exhaust/fender caused it to melt.
2) notchy shifter in '02, now fixed since '03
3) rumors of frame cracking on the motor mounts
4) front fender plastic had a tendency to crack easily, dealer replaced no problem. New plastic was much better.

Overall I loved the Vinson. Especially after I outfitted the machine with a set of Bear Claws. It would handle snowpacked trails in 4WD like it was on rails.

Has anyone had any problems with the Suzuki automatics? I've never heard ANY complaints about them, and I'm interested. I'm considering a Vinson for my next bike, or the KQ. I assume the KQ is going to use a version of this clutch, so I'd like to have some info on it, cheers..

No problems here. The only thing I've got, and it's really not a problem is engagement. Ex: I ride w/ my daughter. I let her lead some of the time, as to keep an eye on her. She tends to nail the brakes-a lot. Thus, I have to nail 'em. After a rapid decel., if I get back on the throttle-hard-the clutch/belt slips/howls a hair upon take off. If I ease back in it-no prob.s. If I launch from idle, under normal conditions-no slip. Hope this helps.

thanks for the garage comments, i belive it was 1000-1200 range.

NOT designed for power door opener i found out( darn amish people)

i did the roof myself, and windows

so far i have also done the following to it.

coupla
it is fully insulated.
Heated
Big fans
enough power for welder and air compressor.
workbench
still have power door opener(rigged!)
i am going to put paneling on the walls and so some sort of stick on tile floor.
and a floor drain.

actually belive it or not i can still ride my vinson this way, it sucks even more because i am going away to maine and my favorite trails, so im still taking it, im also going to visit my favorite dealer(mainly action sports)-jim boden owner's. and get a new display from them while im up there, only 10min from my house.

parts are getting here thurs afternoon

i have to install the bearings 30min job not too bad.

warn 424 select on the rubicon

put my fmf pipe, and new clamps back on my RM, because the welds broke, and i re-welded them.

Setup the suspension on the rm for whoops, and long trails, that way i dont get fatigued as easy(where i ride at home is slow trails and insanely rocky) up in maine in 2hrs you can go an easy 50mi. and the trails go forever 300+mi estimate, in the pipeline/hancock land area.

Nice pictures 4xZuk. I like your Christmas decoration. I've been thinking about making a huge nose with some plywood and paint. Then I'm going to place it in my front yard as a tribute to all my nosey neighbors.

Has anyone had any problems with the manual shift on the Vinson? I don't think I could get myself to buy an auto.
