04' LTZ250 vs. 05' Blaster (upgrades?)
I've recently purchased a 2004 LTZ250 and my girlfriend got a 2005 Blaster, Yesterday my buddy and I decided to take them head to head in a race, first with me on the blaster then with me on the 250. (I won both races lol) but it seemed to me that the Blaster had a little more pick up through the acceleration while the 250 seemed to be more torquey. I'll bet that with a few hop ups the Blaster could smoke my 250 easy, so before that happens (and my girl is blowing by me all the time). I need to ask if anyone knows who makes aftermarket products for this bike, the first few things I want to do to it are:
Exhaust Pipe
Rear Tires
Rear Axle (+4" if someone makes one)
A-Arms (+2" on each side)
Jet Kit?

I think it would take alot of engine work to make a Z250 run with even a stock Blaster.
Reasonable thinking, You have a 246cc 4 stroke, vs. a High power to weight ration 195cc 2 stroke......I believe 2 strokes put out 76% more power then 4 strokes....
Your 250 size is just to small to run top end with the Blaster...but
the trails may be another story...
Get a pipe, jet, and filter for starters.....but don't expect to much, however both are great machines, they were designed different.

If you had a non biased experianced rider with a little seat time on both the Blaster and the Z-250 the Blaster would win the drag, every single time. On a track the same thing will happen. You can't just say "if you ad a pipe to the Z it will keep up just fine" It will do just that keep up, as in behind and losing ground. If you pipe them both, the Blaster would win even more. If you put a filter, pipe, and reeds on the Blaster there is nothing you could do to the Z to win. (bolt-on, or bought parts, with enough $$ anything can happen) Blaster Vs Z-250 has been beaten to death here.
