I have an 87 lt230s and was needing a new shifter for it. The person who had the quad before me did away with the linkage. My question is I have read a few posts about people using the shifter from a rm125 or lt125, what year model did you use and if it just bolted right up.

 

yeh my lt250s had that crappy linkage and i took it off and got a standard style shifter, you just need to find the right length. go to the dealer and see if they have after market shift levers in stock and bring your linkage end piece and get one with the same size shaft diameter!

 

I am currently using a shifter from a shaft style 230, but it is long, and would only work comfortably with large feet.
