Hi, my step dad and i were out riding yesterday when all of a sudden his Z stalled and wouldnt re fire. the only way i could get it to fire at all was to have the choke open and be on the gas w/o while shaking the bike real hard side 2 side, but even then it died the second i stoped shaking. while doin this their was an ocational backfire. we already know there is no spark but my question is, would moisture in the magneto cause this problem? because as far as we could tell there were no shorts or broken wires anywhere, we also replaced the coil on it with a coil from our other kfx.

 

check your plug caps, spark plug,, make sure your carb is connected to the motor, and just check everything !

 

How was it running if you had no spark?

 

we got a brand new plug but when we test for spark there is none, yet when i shake the bike real hard... to the point the rear tires are coming off the ground it will some what fire. it is a spark problem not fuel or air. its also not the coils. 2marro im going to clean the z and remove the magneto cover ta cheak it out

 

sounds to me the mag came loose inside and is shorting out and also check the cdi box to make sure its pluged in all the way
