Vinson wont park...
#1
Just put my new Gators on the Vinson the other day, and rode it around a bit.
These tires are awesome!!
The problem is, I parked it on a slight hill, put the shifter in park, and the thing
started rolling!! So then I messed around with it a bit, trying to get it to quit
rolling, but with no success. When the shifter is in park, and I roll it around, it
makes a clicking noise which sounds like it is coming from the tranny.
This is a 5 speed model, but as far as I know, the park works similar on the
auto as well.
Anyone had this similar problem??

I haven't had the park problem. I have had the problem where it gets stuck between gears, say neutral and high.
The parking pawl cable goes to the rear differential case. There has to be a cable adjustment for it somewhere.

heres your definite fix
take off the side plastic located by the shifter box. on the left side under the fender.
then go ahead and try and disconnect the linkage that goes downward, that runs through the bottom of the frame. the other linkage that runs horizontal is for the tranny, h, l, n , ect.
it might take some trying to get that linkage off, you might have to remove the shifter cover, and shift ****, and the boot, and unbolt it from the frame to make it easier it really did for me. now make sure that that verticle linkage is STRAIGHT, mine got bent at 30 degrees or such, and was doing the clicking(haft engaged)i straitned the shaft.
BEFORE you mess with the assembly try this quick fix first.
located on the rear diff there is a spline coming out, and a knuckle on it connecting the park box to the shifter gate. take that spline off, need to remove the 10mm bolt. first. then go ahead and slide it off. then put the shifter itself in park(the hand opererated selector). then take channel locks, or vice grips, and manually turn the diff spline. rock the quad foward and back. to ensure that it is clicked into park, then just put the knuckle on the spline while everything is in park, that should be about it.
if that doesnt fix it drop me a pm i might have another solution
