Default 250R Clutch Problems

Ok guys, here's the deal...the clutch cable holder on my clutch cover broke so I bought the steel holder from james lucky(the one that bolts onto the clutch cover) and some how I messed up the cable and I "adjusted it" but now when I pull the clutch and put it in gear it jerks forward and dies. I thought I put on the clutch lever (the one that goes on the shaft coming out of the cover) but I guess I messed up. Help me out, what do I have to do?

Is the clutch lever that bolts onto the shaft coming out of the case tight and not stripped? When you pull in the clutch does both the lever and shaft move without any stripping\grinding noises?

If that is OK, have you tried to adjust the actual cable itself?

How new or old is your clutch, before you broke the cable holder how much adjustment did you have left on both the bolt that mounted to the case and the cable at the clutch lever (handlebars) itself?

Shaft and lever are both moving together...I adjusted the cable and all but the thing is that the shaf moves to easy and then hits something inside...I bought the quad from a friend of a friend and the guy said it was just a matter of putting on some bolts and a new chain and it was good to go...but I think this guy ripped me off Im just gonna order a new clutch cover gasket and clutch as well and dig into this POS quad...we've already got 1,600 into it in parts...plus the 1,000 we paid to buy it
