400ex shocks

I could always snag the shocks off of my buddys 400 while hes at work or somthing, does it bottom out easier with the 400 shocks??? just wondering cause of the mount points to the control arms are differnt(lt's have more leverage on there shocks).
is the any thing to swap out in the rear, tired of tagging the rear of frame when i land

They bolted right on for me, Since I knew they would be an improvement i didnt look at geometry. I havent had them bottom out once, and I was hitting some jumps pretty hard. They just soaked them up and rode on, Was nice because they werent too bouncy either

Good info. I actually found this out about a month ago, but still wasn't sure. I took the measurements off my buddy's new 250r (89)and knew they would fit. So actually, 400ex, 250r, and 450r shocks should fit 87-92 lts, with relative ease. This is great info since there is not a huge aftermarket for our bikes. .....Going to ebay now....

Rears I avent looked at, mines in decent shape(the stocker) so it wasnt a big issue for me. Now that i know the 400ex ones fit, Wide open, I see 400ex aftermarket all the time. Buying a used set of works for a 400 is soooo much easier than forking over $800 for new ones.
But im ine with the stock 4oo ones for now. I have other things to address. Just bought the a-arm bushings to replace, mine were sooooo shot. Next is the top ball joints(just did the bottms) Thn i have some leaks to address, or might wait until the entire teardown this winter.
Eric Gorrs shop is only 15 minutes from me, Hoping to get some good feedback on his work before i drop the motor off. I dont want to go to wild, But I know i shouldnt be getting beaten by stocker 400ex's

My 87 LT250 is ported by Eric Gorr, along with our Blaster. Real nice work. The LT puts a whoopin on the Z400's unless they're built up pretty good. The Blaster climbs the big dunes at St Anthony and guys are always saying "I've never seen a Blaster make it up that one!"
I recommend Eric.

Shady,
What all did you have Eric Do? And how much was it. My lt rips pretty good, but i know for a fact that the powervalve is not working at all. I figred since i have a few leaks , might as well have him go over it. But if just the powervalve working will be a huge improvment, then maybe i should go at it myself this time

just wondering if the 400ex shocks are still working good for you people who have them?? I finally got me some off Ebay...paid a little more for them but i wanted a pair that i knew wasnt blown, and they came with shock covers. I got them for 60 plus 15 for shipping, and i think i might sell my friend the shock covers for 15, so i guess it wasnt bad. Hopefully these things work as good as you say they do...400ex shocks in front and Works quadstar rear...outta be nice and soft, FINALLY!
