KQ 700 / Rubicon Wheel Offset
#1
I have a Rubicon and a new KQ 700. Since the bolt pattern is the same I thought I would see if I could switch the wheels rims (Rubi has 26" 589's).......I knew the rear wheel offset was different, but I wanted to see how close.....turns out the Honda wheels on the KQ would work, but the KQ wheels on the Honda won't - the left side will hit the exhaust when the suspension compresses. Front offset looks to be the same.
Here's the question - Honda rear wheels on the KQ.........What would you think of adding 3" (or so) of addition offset per side to the outside?......cheaper and better way to add offset than spacers I suppose(?). For you engineers out there (I'm afflicted too!), do you think that the additional length of the momemt arm would add too much strain?
